Latest Fuel Surcharge Announcement
Fuel Surcharge Increase (01/09/2005)
Royal Airlines today announced that it has increased its fuel surcharge
by PKR 3.00/kg or US $0.05/kg or local currency equivalent for all
classes of cargo, effective 8th September 2005.
A fuel index, much the same as that created by other leading airlines
in the industry has been adopted by Royal Airlines. This will provide
customers with more information about the calculation of fuel surcharges.
It shall be updated on a weekly basis and posted on the royalpakistan.com
website. To provide clarity for our customers in the event of further
significant fuel price increases, Royal Airlines is also announcing
two additional surcharge increments level 130 and 140, as detailed
in the table below.
Details of the current index level
Methodology
The Royal Airlines fuel index is based on an average price of aviation
fuel in the two countries it serves on its scheduled operations;
Pakistan and UAE. These averages are monitored against a fixed base
of PKR 40.00 per US Gallon, equal to index 40, and from this a weekly
fuel price index will be published. Fuel surcharge will be determined
when the index reaches specific trigger points as shown in the table
below for two consecutive weeks:
